Hi Bloggers,
I have added a short and simple Primary School Assembly on being ‘kind and thoughtful to others’ by thinking about what you say – “Say kind words, hear kind echoes”.
STORY OVERVIEW: This story is based on the theme of ‘Echo Mountain’. ‘Harold’ the main character is selfish and cannot say anything nice; consequently he does not have any friends. His parents are worried about him as he is always being nasty to his baby sister and to his friends. His parents go and consult the best doctor in the land who says that they should take him to ‘Echo Mountain’. On Echo Mountian, everything he says comes back to him. He shouts to the other side of the valley “I hate you!” the echo returns and he gets angry as he thinks that there is ‘someone’ on the other side of the valley who is saying nasty things to him! This continues until his parents suggest he says something nice – when he does, he hears a kind response!
Harold quickly learns that if he is nice to people they will be nice to him and he starts to gain friends: “Say kind words, hear kind echoes”.
